Jonestown,Texas

July 13, 2002

The lake opened after being closed several days due to the flooding in central Texas. Rob was anxious to get out and test out his new lift engine.

It looks like the ducks don't seem to mind the extra 20 or so feet of water. There is supposed to be a boat ramp around here somewhere.

I went for a quick spin through the park and then found a good place to land. This road usually runs for a couple hundred yards out to another boat ramp.

The lake was empty! We went for a cruise and found a sanbar to jump. If you look close in this picture you can see the roof of a pavilion. I was really tempted to use it as a jump. It was a bit steep, and I didn't think the local law enforement would appreciate me abusing their park so I didn't jump it.

I took the next couple of pictures after we got back from crusing around. The large flame decal still looks great on the front, but I think I need to put one on each side of the duct.

I finally lost one of the Burden Brothers decals. A flame decal blew off one of the rudders. No big deal, I am making new rudders anyway and will replace it soon. One of the engine mounts came loose which caused the engine to rub agains the duct a little bit.
